A 30+ year veteran of the facilities maintenance industry, he has built and sold or merged several successful companies.
In the early 2000s, he founded Smith Chemical & Wax of Savannah, Inc. which developed the Armadillo line of commercial cleaning products, floor finishes and strippers. The Armadillo Brand Products division was closely followed by Armadillo Brand Service Company which managed floorcare for Dollar General, Goodwill Industries, Bealls and Burkes among others. Armadillo Consulting, a vehicle to transfer knowledge developed in both the service and products division, became the final division of The Armadillo Group. In 2013, they were purchased by a larger company.
All Facility Service is his latest venture.
Tim Smith: Father, Golfer, Gourmet Cook, Traveler
Tim has been married to his wife Cindy for 31 years and they have three children together: Dustin, Ali and Natalie.
One of the great family past times is cooking together. Dustin is on the salad line, Natalie bakes a mean coffee cake and Ali culls the best of the internet for new and interesting dishes. The parents anchor the meal with a protein and furnish the venue.
Tim has golfed for many years, at times competitively, but now rests his hat at Walnut Creek Country Club, enjoying the company of fellow low-handicap amateurs. But the glory days aren't entirely over: in a charity tournament recently, he had his second hole-in-one!
And when work permits, he and his wife Cindy explore the world. They love the old south culture of Savannah (their former home), but also have gotten to Alaska, France and Spain over the past five years and look forward to more adventures ahead.
